Original build code D63 - what is it?
« on: 23 July 2012, 16:41:26 »

Just having a nosey at the original spec of my ex-plod saloon (ta muchly Jimbob) - amongst the various self-explanatory ones, there's this -

D63 = BOX,DEPOSIT,FLOOR,FRONT

- to what does this refer? Is it something simple like "glovebox", or when I take the seats out am I going to find an oil painting with a safe behind? ;)

IIRC it`s the driver`s cubby hole box

That's remarkably disappointing. I shall have to be happy that the mountings for the gun boxes are still intact, instead... :D

As RobG says.

The gun cabinets were not fitted by GM, thus no code for them.

I was rather hoping not, given that the way the carpet has been cut around them suggests "Stanley blade and catapult"  ;)

Gun cars as they called covers a large area.
 some had Kevlar door panels(front) with gunboxes to put mp5, some had boxes fitted behind front seats,to take spare clip or hand gun or a tazer.also centre armrest removed and replaced with lockable box(plastic),rear seat squib removed full length gun cabinet fitted,.
.  Hope it helps

Haha, the boxes have been removed, there's just the metal plates where they were bolted through left under the carpet.
