water in footwell

i found water in the passenger footwell and drips from underneath .now engine management light on .any answers?

Doubt your drips & EML are connected. You'll need a code reader to determine the EML fault.  :(

Could be what Andy mentioned, also could be screen or if like my problem, the water ran down the gutter, seeped around the black rubber door seal, some how got inside the car & dripped off the bottom of the glove box.
I cured mine with black polyurethane sealant (Tiger Seal or Sika).

Your best bet is to get the hose pipe or fill a watering can, pour a little water in the scuttle drain & wait to see if water comes in, then work you way up the screen & door pillar, eventually getting to the roof, but each time you move up, wait to see if water comes through, I'd say around ten mins for each step.
