Tigra A (Corsa B) screen washer help.
« on: 22 August 2012, 16:59:25 »

Tigra A Mot time, front screen washer pump is not working, wippers etc do as they should, any info on Fuse, Relay numbers or wiring info please.

Thanks Chris.

Edit: forgot to add, engine off, ing. on, when I operate washer stalk, dash bulbs slightly dim, so Im guessing something is drawing current, jammed Motor or relay?, or wiring? any thoughts.

Put a multi-meter (lamp) across the terminals going to the pump & see if you get any volts there when you operate the washers. Sounds like it could be a fubar'd pump.  :-\ Is it a hatchback & has a rear screen? What happens if you try to wash the rear screen? It's the same pump (just spins the other way), if you get the same as when trying to wash the front, I'd definitely same a goosed pump.

Ok, yea Tigra Hatch with front and rear wash, just hunting for the DVM now, just had a quick poke about, its seems the washer (Black motor on top) can be worked loose from the bottle??, or am I going to end up breaking it if I pull it out.

I've never seen under the bonnet of a Tigra, but would assume they use the same pump as other Vauxhall hatches/estates, they all normally just pull out of the rubber grommet in the bottle.

Thanks Andy, yep just had it all apart, bottles half hidden under the front scuctle, another car built by migets. Pumps gone draws curent both ways but nothing, seem to remember now not if the back one worked.

Just had a quick look at one of the Migs, reckon I can do a temp bodge as cars in for mot first thing, only problem being it will only do the fronts, anyone if the rear wash is a mot fail? Sorry for typos on mobile.

Great, thanks Lee, I remember it never use to be but wasn't sure if it was on the list after the changes this year.

Mine stopped working after it's lay up, couple of whacks got it going easy enough. Worth a try :-\
