i thought so :)

if i were you i'd set a weekend to do it. not cos it takes that long but cos you know you have no interruptions. i think a wise man once told me not to work on the car when short of time or stressed... think that was The Boy  :y

if you're a complete novice (like i was and still am in many ways) i'd  think of the job as four parts:

plenum (or intake manifold) removal
cam cover removal
cam cover replacement
plenum replacement

when i did it i made sure i had my laptop/internet connection so i could ask these awesome dudes questions as they cropped up.... and they did lol just read the guide. anything that concerns you or you dont understand post on here before you do it  :y

finally i love trans-ams..... got any piccies?  :)

Sorry Webby, I didn't see your reply for some reason. Here's a link to my Trans Am:

www.goldtransam.co.uk

Advice for the gaskets was spot on. I didn't get a chance to set aside the whole weekend though, as the wife wanted some of my time  ::). As it was I managed to just about get it done in a day, I wanted to do it quicker but I spent 2 hours longer trying to find a place to put the spare piece of pipe I had left somewhere.

Turns out it was a gearbox breather. It vents to atmosphere. And I took the entire bleedin' plenum off to try to find where it went! :'(

Laptop idea was great, had the ipad out there with me with all the 'how to's' all ready to refer to. They were INVALUABLE.

Few pics of the miggy after I valeted her:

Thanks mate.

It's a really funny colour, grey, blue, purple and bronze, all at the same time!

Took me ages to get it shiny again. 12 years of car washes and London grime had to come off.

Only recently discovered clay bar. Works a treat! The amount of gank I got off.  :o

It does look very blue. It's actually Dark Grey, but it rarely looks dark grey!

Perfect getaway car.

'The car was blue officer'

'The car was grey officer'

'The car was bronze officer'

etc etc  :)
