2003 Corsa battery removal.

Has anyone tried to remove the battery from a 2000-2006 Corsa?.

Why make a 5 minute job so difficult, Vauxhall. :(

Poor engineering in my opinion. :(

Battery under scuttle isn't a great idea IMHO...

Checking out the Corsa Chavs forum  ::) ::)......................most back to front baseball cap wearers prefer to remove the wipers and scuttle. One owner said he cracked the screen by forcing  the battery past the scuttle.

 According to my trusty Sparktune the Battery shows 10.5 volts without the engine running, and 12.5 volts at 2-3,000 RPM. Not enough, I think. :-\

Mercedes have top trumped Vauxhall in the battery removal stakes with my R Class. The sod is under the driver's seat, which apparently has to come out to remove the bugger!  :o :o :o

Well designed then! I suppose you just keep your fingers crossed that you're not the oner that has to replace it. Or another money making ploy by the manufacturers to make you go back to them for what should be a simple 5 min job.

Well designed then! I suppose you just keep your fingers crossed that you're not the oner that has to replace it. Or another money making ploy by the manufacturers to make you go back to them for what should be a simple 5 min job.

Quite a lot of vehicles do it,Renault scenic is another,most Beemers wear the battery in the boot ???

Cars used to have batteries in the boot years ago eg Rover (P5 or P6 can't remember) but it's not the same as burying under a seat. Some VW campers/vans have them under the seat, but you can still get access to it if need be.

Fault may well lie with the alternator. You should be able to charge the battery with a bench charger and get it tested without removal.
