Rx8 MOT pass.
« on: 05 October 2012, 18:44:29 »

Took it to my local Vauxhall dealer at three this afternoon.

I'm pleased to say that it passed with no advisories. :y

The MOT tester was a former RX8 owner who took it for it for a quick blast then tested it straight away. No problems with emissions. :y

I showed him the emissions fail slip and he couldn't believe the previous tester didn't perform a 2nd fast idle test. He suggested I take it up with VOSA.( I want my MOT fee refunded) >:(

According to the tester, it's pretty common for cars to fail the emissions test on the 1st fast idle test, only to pass on the second test.

So, all said and done, a good day. :y

Anyone want to buy an immaculate 9,500 mile RX8 with 12 months MOT? ;)

When I say it's for sale I'm being semi-serious. Mrs Opti rarely drives it saying it's too fast and she prefers her Corsa. So, for the right money......... :)

Tie a block of wood under the throttle pedal Opti! ;D
Glad to hear you got the correct result on re-test and a complaint to VOSA is the right way to go imho, when I did it they were very quick off the mark and thorough in their findings with a swift refund of the fee! :y

Yep. Phil and Henry. I'm contacting VOSA on Monday morning. I think a refund for the test fee is in order. :y
