The only like for like swap for the Miggy estate seem to be an E-series Merc.

I know that circa 2000-2003 they had many reliability issues. I seem to recall one major problem was where the radiator and gearbox cooler are one unit and when they leak it is water into transmission fluid, which kills the gearbox. They seem to have steady improved since then and last year were JD powers most reliable car.

Not quite sure how they achieved that  :-\

I know of another cab driver that always has E class mercs.....

59 plate E class.....had injectors changed countless times
11 plate E class....had injectors changed once.....then had a recall from merc to have them changed again

Hes getting a 62 plate E class this weekend.....so we shall see how this one turns out.

He does around 100k/yr in them ......the 11 plate one he's chopping in has done 154k
