everything that needs doing, making, producing, growing, slaughtering, giving, etc etc can't be done in the last week of Xmas. There isn't time. Miserable bugger.

However, I hate being disturbed of an evening. Especially by door to door types, charity's, god botherers and don't get me started on salesman.
".... I'm from blah, can I interest you in blah, it's..."
"can I just stop you there for one second?"
"silence"

.....and close door.

I always say to salespeople: "I won't waste your time, and where I'm very busy I don't want you waste mine as I never buy anything at the door".

Energy supplier salesmen can be a bit more persistent, so I ways: "Have you heard of Uswitch" They always reply "Yes", to which I reply "So, have I and I know how to use it, goodbye".

If it is a charity, I always say: "I have charities I give to and yours is not on my list, so sorry no, goodbye"

The local Round Table/whatever/charity with the Xmas float has just been round. And got the expected response from me.

Its the fekking 3rd of December FFS, and a bit late for the little ones who would like it. WTF are these effing useless retards thinking, blaring out their crap at full volume, and trying to wear out my doorbell  .

And on the subject of charities, the beeb should be fined a crippling amount for Children In Need.  They have far more clout to get that charity more recognition that any other, and at other charities expense.

In effect, CIN get about a month's worth of free advertising for at least 30mins a day, and then a 5 or 6 hour long advert.

Bloody disgrace.
