 hi any one out there have the diagrams for doing the cam timing or top end rebuilds on a y32se?it  has a blown head and i need to see what im  up against before starting i live australia and info on this motor is scarce any info would be appreciated

Same procedure as for the X25Xe, X30XE and Y26SE.

I would be looking to confirm head issues as its rare adn these have steel head gaskets, very worthwhile describing the symptoms (e.g. oil in the water which is very much NOT head gasket)

engine seemed to be running fine but after 1 half minutes smoke was coming out the exhaust the intake manifold was full of oil and thats as far as iv got.first thought it was a blown head pressurising the oil system and pushing it thru the pcv any thoughts?

Check leaking cam covers (+ breathers probably blocked) or leaking connectors to oil cooler (sat in the V) - as said very unlikely to be HG on these!  Lot less hassle and less cost to fix these vs changing hgs

Some 3.2 vecta in service did have headgasket faiiure due to the back bank 135 getting hotter due to airflow and coolent temp after a long hard drive then just being switched off,.

nah its a 04 holden vectra think your omegas over here are holden commodores but you can get ls1 motors in them which would be a pontiac gto in the states. gm love playing name games.thanks for all the replies great help.

Wish they have sold them with the LS1 over here.

Infact Opel made a prototype that was shown at the Frankfurt Autoshow in 2001. Project was cancelled in the last minute due to over heating problems when going full throttle on Autobahn. It also had 13" Corvette brakes in front.

The Holden Commodores ar a few inches wider and can handle the V8 a little better.
