Irrespective of immigration from anywhere I would not generally mind, but....
We have 2.6 million unemployed, we have a housing crisis, the NHS is stretched to its limit, Doctors lists are full, schools are over subscribed, we cannot care for our old folk, people are losing jobs and their houses with the cuts......
When the supermarket shelves are full, they cut their ordering....when your larder is full, you do not buy, when the car is full of oil, you stop adding....
Its common sense......
I would answer that terbert with: our population is fast becoming a majority over 65 years of age. We need new young blood to keep our industries going, and growing, with tax being generated to pay for all the services, along with the pensions and health care required to our old citizens.
Our schools, at least in Kent, are currently worried about having too few pupils as numbers decline, and as for all the other services you mention, well they are feeling the pinch due to a national financial situation, not one caused by a few thousand immigrants. In fact if we put those immigrants to work for the nation and do what many immigrants have done before, build businesses, we will see GDP rise. That will pay for our needs later.
