Flushing Heater matrix
« on: 26 January 2013, 12:03:03 »

I'm going to flush my heater matrix this week as per the guide http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90620.msg1155537#msg1155537
my questions are, by doing this will it drain all of my coolant ? if it does should I put back 50/50 anti freeze and water, also how much anti freeze will I need, or can I just flush and top coolant tank up with water ?

If you are going to flush the matrix you may as well do a complete coolant flush & change change IMO.

unless it has been done fairly recently  :-\ :-\

not all coolant will drain out if you only disconnect the matrix hoses in my experience

but whatever way you go replenish with 50/50 pre  mixed :y

would advise GM Pink  :y

The whole cooling system holds 10.5 litres IIRC. If you do a full system flush you will need 5.5 litres off concentrated antifreeze (to mix with the same quantity of water).

If you just flush the heater matrix then 1 litre of concentrated antifreeze (& the same of water) will be plenty.
