Weird one?

Hi guys,

Took my MX5 out tonight and as I turned to come up onto the drive my powersteering just failed now feels really flipping stiff I've checked the fluid level and generally looked around no leaking pipes or odd noises can anyone shed any light?

Belt still on yer checked that, that's what I thought it could be untill I checked but no still spinning the cog ? Really odd one this?

My guess would be that a seal in the steering rack has died or perhaps the relief valve in the pump.
