Nationalisation of UK houses
« on: 20 February 2013, 23:28:07 »

The Limp Dems and Labour are currently planning a mansion tax and are threatening during this Parliament collaborate to  achieve this where by working together they have enough MPs to pass this legislation though the commons.

What this is be beginning of the nationalisation of ALL property. Once the principle of a mansion tax with a £2m threshold has been established then the threshold will be progressively lowered where Governments cannot raise enough money, hence the current deficit, from other taxes.  >:( >:( >:( >:(

Nick Clegg said today on his radio program, that those who could not afford the tax, like asset rich, income poor widows would have the choice of either selling their house or the Government owning the tax percentage each year. Now say the tax was set at 5% and the widow opted for the Government taking a slice each year. Now due to the compound rate of the Government's accumulation they would have nationalized and own the property in less than 15 years. Now if the Government charged 5% and dropped the threshold to say £200,000 so it mainly affected the 'rich' South East, how would you feel about having to pay £10,000 or more per year on income that has already been taxed or have your house nationalized in less than 15 years, so you then have to rent?  >:( >:( >:( >:(

This is what this monstrous tax on capital you have accumulated from taxed income would do. IMHO outrageous. The Limp Dems are already talking about extending it to jewellery, savings and other assets in consultative papers, so this could fairly quickly could end up as a net worth tax.  >:( >:( >:( >:(

I have warned in previous post that desperate broke Governments will do anything to keep the plates spinning and their snouts in the trough for a bit longer and part of this will be to confiscate all personal wealth, well this will be the start.  >:( >:( >:( >:(

And those of you that scoff at this, this is exactly what has happened in Italy with their current hated property tax, introduced by that imposed EU stooge Mario Monti. Berlusconi has pledged to abolish this in his current election manifesto which has improved his ratings from no hoper to outside contender.

I can't afford anymore tax. I've got a 9k a year wage reduction to swallow. I took the time and effort to build my house and now the ratting bastards will force me out of it if they do that. It's not worth millions but if they do indeed lower the level I for one will be boned.

Remember, folks, that the government are our servants...NOT our masters.

They should heed that, lest the electorate rise up.  ;)

Yes BUT, politicians and political parties lie. All of them of ALL parties.

They lie to get your vote, get into Government, and then do something different and/or something that you did NOT vote for.

If was was younger (and didn't own a nice house), I think I would become an anarchist     ;D

One interesting development in Spain this year is the introduction of a mandatory process where you have to declare all your assets. Right down to annuities, pension plans you are still contributing to, shares, investment trusts and so on. The penalties for not doing so are incredibly high. In effect the value of the asset AND a fine.

So a lot of expat people are running around wondering what to declare as the value of a yet to mature private pension.

More examples of the state lining up to get its hands on your hard earned dosh.

Thats easy as its stated in your annual statement

I wonder if they are looking to secure some debt against its residents assets in order to get better rates.....

Rog well said and i applaud you for saying that...........i am not a  trouble maker at all,we put these guys in power to represent us in what we want and what we believe in.....and all they do is change it all and then just tell us lies and blame the other parties for the state they left the country in....i am retired and have worked all my life and paid my taxes like millions of others. it is a fact that approx 20% of all workers do not live until the age of 65 so where have all their pension payments gone to  ????.....i was born in what they call the baby boom  1943 and these politicians would be out of power tomorrow if we oldies stood up to them and said...enough s enough..and they know it....trouble is who ever gets in will continue to evade the question...waffle....stutter....and down right twist the truth just to get what they want and get richer by robbing all of us......here endeth this mornings lesson.. :'( :'( :'( :D

The general population of the UK has been softened up by the nanny state for the last 20 years.

Nobody has the gonads anymore for the fight.
This country will just roll over and die  >:(

I fear for my childrens future tbh  :(

But I also raise the possibility that there are now so many people who benefit from the nanny state and who benefit from the State in general, that there simple are not enough people who would want to fight and who would lose out if they changed things. Wooing the masses with promised bribes is a well establish strategy for getting votes. Just a thought  ???

Cynically it's announced as a mansion tax ("won't affect me, then") but how long before it has ratcheted down to include the average modest dwelling?

Of course, those who it will really hit are those with the mobility to up sticks and buy their property elsewhere. Who will blame them? They are also the people who would otherwise be instrumental in digging us out of the mess we're currently in. We will end up a nation of surfs, in more ways than one.
