If you go to the shops to buy your lottery ticket, you are five times more likely to be killed on the way than you are to win the top prize. ;D

The number of people who tell me they dont need fire alarms, fire doors etc,

you are ten times more likely to die in a house fire than win the lottery, but you still buy a ticket.
