lack of power question
« on: 09 February 2013, 18:32:30 »

hi i have a 97 x30xe engined omega and find a lack of power near the top end of the rev range, drives fine all of the time but 75% of the time when its being reved hard near the top end it holds back!?
also noticed it sometimes brings the rev limiter in early at about 5000 to 5500rpm

sometimes if you hold the throttle down it will rev through it and hit the limiter but other times it wont!!

not ideal as i use it as a drift car so i need the top end power really and is getting annoying when i dont know how much power i am going into a corner with!  :-\

no fault codes found its had new plugs, rocker cover gaskets, air filter, fuel filter, been de-catted and a new genuine crank sensor less than 1000 miles ago.

any help much appreciated  :)

hi thought i would update this post,
i found the issue that was starving me of power.
my fuel pressure vac hose and my rear multiram vac pipe were plumbed in the wrong way round.
turns out i have been driving this car for a year like that  :-[
turned them back round and hey presto loadsa power and torque again  ;D  :y
might come in handy for someone else  :)
