Shock absorber test?
« on: 30 March 2013, 15:24:08 »

Hi,

Im driving with Omega Estate 2,2 gasoline, since 2001.  Rough winter has done negative effect for the car suspension- rear shock absorbers feel too soft.

I have one set of rear absorbers from 2,2 bensin donor Omega. Does anybody have a instruction, how to test absorbers good fit before fitting?
There is no oil leakage noted about the replacement ones.

Cheers,
Olari

Push them in and if resistance is felt pulling out then should be ok the more resistance the better.  ;)
should be a smooth action too.  :y

Should be controlled damping on compression and rebound stroke. No tight or loose spots.

When released from full compression they should return to full extension on their own in a slow controlled manor.

No oil leaks obviously.
