I have some temp wires running from my front one. Two of the wires have broken some where. Hopefully when my new toy turns up from the good old US of A I'll be able to find the breaks. As for warning on after thermostat change I wonder if the arm has come off the front one when they lifted it up on the ramp. If they used a ramp that is.

Doubt it. OP`s profile states GLS 2.6. No such beast, must be a typo (or typographical error for you Andy)

No such beast? Oh. Well that's what the seller said it was. It's definitely a 2.6, but it has no trim badges on it.

How can I tell what it is? It has leather, climate control, the stereo with the cassette and the autochanger, partially electric seats, 4 electric windows, HIDs (I think that's what they're called) etc.

Weirdly, that fault message hasn't been back since I posted yesterday!

Weirdly, none of the CDXs I looked at had leather. Maybe it's just a base model with extras. It does also seem to have the full multifunction display. Still, straying off topic a bit - apologies.

I had a CDX with leather. It also had the part electric seats which makes me think that's what it is

Quick update in case anyone is interested...

My car (2.6 estate) is registered as a GLS and Masterfit also think it's a GLS when I put my reg number in...

Went for an MOT today (failed on exhaust as expected) and again, immediately afterwards I got the low beam fld vision error with the check light on initially. Again, it's gradually settling down - check light is now out but the message still pops up and goes intermittently.

I assume it's been jacked up again with the wheels dangling. Is this normal for these cars or are there some precautions the garages should be taking before jacking them up?

I know on my Range Rover the wheels aren't supposed to be left dangling because of the risk of damage to the height sensors...

checked the wiring where it looked crushed and all was ok but the black arm that goes into the sensor was popped out but it didnt look like it had snapped off as it pushed back in to its socket but still getting the warning so would you say the sensor is shot ?

Not an uncommon occurrence .. a cable (zip) tie often works to stop them popping off again .. but not too tight to stop movement .. if that makes sense ..

its not the little connecting rod from the wishbone its the actual black plastic leaver arm that the rod goes onto if you look at it its the back of the sensor on the opposite side to where the plug goes into the sensor hope that makes sense ?

Ahh I get you ... probably needs a replacement one .. a breaker on here should be able to get you one easily enough ...

They work by some sort of magnetic pick up. The arm doesn't actually go inside the box. The headlight ecu as part of it's fault codes has an "an out of limit" limit. Is there anyway you could of put the arm back in the wrong place?

just a quick update while i was changing the exhaust i gave the sensor bracket a little tweak and now i get the fld/vision check going on and off it comes on while braking or turning left and goes off when pulling away or loading up the nsr wheel when turning right

mine kept doing that until the headlights were adjusted at an mot center-charged me a tenner but sorted problem
