Not to my knowledge. MID can only be programmed to each car spec/engine/transmission, nothing unique text wise can be done.

I'm no TD expert, but on these you want to chip them, rather than tuning box.

As TheBoy was asking earlier, he wanted to know what ECU you have as it changed between manual/auto. (and year)

Someone will advise of a suitable chip, some are plug and play, some require soldering.

not sure will check it before this evening is out a report back.  Ive an inkling it'll be the one that requires desoldering etc but could be lucky

most ecu after 98 were soldered! so you need to put a socket in the board, then chip either to full fat or +10 or less smoke +5 and not far off its your choice on these,
small jobs worth doing,
backbox removal its rather heavy for what it does and gas escapes better withlittle or no
extra noise worth mentionning ;D
blank egr as you say some say it worth removing the plastic iintake and throttle body and replacing with a straight piece of pipe,
can also fit manual switch to intercooler, as stupid vauxhall only have it come on with main fans, very rare,it makes a difference as intake temps can come down by as much as 30degree,s!! :y
carefully very carefully,a quarter of a turn a time,on the wastegate arm, till you are happy when you have chipped it, this will lessen smoke, and give a fair bit more poke until the wastegate catches up with itself, but its worthwhile doing, change gear at around 4k and it dont very often catch up :y
oil change every 3 k with good quality oil makes a difference, as does running on super diesel,
mine would easily light up the tyres in third, so had to back it off a bit for the mrs, :-X

It'll be a 428 ECU then, and it will be soldered.

Some of the ebay ones are really bad.  I had a 428 off a local chap, who many OOF tractor owners use, as they are "known good".  I think, from memory, it was around the BMW spec, so 150+ bhp, with very nice delivery.

I got one of the chips from omegatoys mate which i still havnt got around to fitting yet. he told me it would put the car back to BMW standard which was 178 bhp and stop most of the soke with that alone. Once I am back in work, i will be on the hunt for an AR35 and then getting the chip fitted. The chip carriers are easily available. I got mine from "Rapid Electronics" and they were only pennies to buy. Will cost more on postage than the cost of one.
