Kwik Fit did the nuts.  Just enough to leave the store.

Actually I shouldn't say that, I noticed this year that both Kwik Fit and National used a torque wrench for the final settings. Gone it seems are the days of just jam them as tight as possible with an air wrench.  Maybe the law has changed? Or someone died?  Or more likely someone sued.

reminds me of how China Airlines improved their dreadful safety record by making the mechanics fly on the planes.

Do the losing side get to have heros? I though it was just war criminals or dead villains

Nope. They do it up to 1000 nm with the windy gun, then check with the torque wrench set to 100nm, which just goes "click", leaving you with a wheel nut that's about to fracture. ::)

Yup, seen that, windy gun on till it goes no more then a nice click with torque wrench  ;D

WIM are the only people I've seen actually wind the torque wrench before it goes click!   :)

Slightly disagree there Lizzae--All pilots in WW1 were hero's--take a look at one of those planes-I did-in Shuttleworth-made of wood, covered in linen-hot oil blown into your face-no radio's or air traffic control--remember the plane was not ten years old then-when war started-so I reckon anyone brave enough to fly in one was a hero :y
