2.2 petrol, fan behind the rad is on all the time with the ignition on,I changed all the relays but I believe there is a switch of some sort that could be at fault. Could some kind person point me in the direction or provide a pic please?

Only 2 switches, one directly under top hose, the other further down. IIRC the lowest one may be your problem
