wipers
« on: 11 July 2013, 22:21:00 »

Right then doing a few little jobs on the new omega after cleaning it up . The wipers were set half on the screen . So I took them off and reset the arms but still not swipe full screen so again I moved and reset them again this time they stopped at the top of the stroke . Now when I put the wipers on they go down first . When I look at the motor tide arm is facing the drivers side . A bit of a strange one to explain but if I turn the arms on top of the motor 180 degrees . As anyone got a picture of how they should look like under the scuttle . ?  :y :y

? Er, I think that should that be a question? Should it? :-\

If the motor is parked in the stop position, (which it should be from when it was last used, unless the ignition was turned off before the stroke was finished) and the short arm on the motor is positioned so it fits between the marks on the casting ( | Arm l< or something like, it's been a while) then the motor and assembly should be ready to accept the wiper arms (as Robs pic) when assembled.

If its still not right, either the assembly of the mechanism is wrong, as I think your suggesting, or the motor is not parking correctly.

Edit
Iirc, and going by google images, when placed the correct way up and looking from the front of the car, the motor arm should be horizontal left to right, and pointing away from the driver directly towards the wing.

Not promoting this site but it does have a pic.
