yes, 2001 is the date.

prior to 2001 cars are taxed in two bands according to engine size

post-2001 cars are taxed according to CO2 emissions

Simply yet another reason not to buy a four pot ;D

V6s are much better value  :y

Yep, or to put it another way, to get the same emissions through 2/3rds as many cylinders they're going to be whining away constantly trying to keep an Omega moving. ;D

I owned a 2litre 16v estate once ::) And once the interior was removed, I sold it :y

Didn't drive it far enough to put petrol in it, but rev happy is a phrase that springs to mind ;D

If you own a tidy '94-'95 vintage 2.0 8v base model car, preserve it for the grand children, as they will shortly be non existant, otherwise you might as well buy a ice v6 :y

Pah, 4 pots rock. Far easier to work on my 2.2 is considerably more silent around town than the 3.2

It's ETS similar to Eternal which is on the 2.2, same markings, double walled. On a cruise it's fine, just find more engine noise compared to my silent 2.2.

Think I'm biased, had the 2.2 over 8 years now  ::)

Good on you mate  :y ..Takes some doing that.

Think I'm biased towards the V6 sound over the 2.2.. Saying that both produce a fair bit of noise when floored, Can't say I've noticed the 3.2 to be too loud even with the stainless exhaust around town or cruising  :-\ .. Had a Subaru legacy 2.0 some years ago when we had bad snow up here, Now that was loud all the time  :o :o ;D
