common ive found on lots of vauxhalls is brake pads rattle when handbrake released, when driving and rattling starts try applying brakes or just pull handbrake slightly so preasure applied(not to lock them as this would be dangourous) hth and cures your problem

Last summer i had the window down and also heard a noise, more jingly than rattley though ,checked loads of things and turned out to be broken rear spring,only a small bit on the end was broken off but enough to cause noise on bumps. Only a thought but might be problem

But the handbrake operates shoes inside the disc on the Omega (and most Vauxhalls actually)

I agree... I broke the pig tail off a rear spring about 3 weeks ago and have exactly the same noise
