I'd say no ..... never had my 'tracking' checked after mine was changed. Can't see why you'd need to.

Your aware it needs to be torqued to 320nm?


Halfords do a 300nm torque wrench where the extra 20nm can be judged on the gauge.

I have one of those and can confirm it does the job quite nicely 

I use a 3ft scaffold pole on a breaker bar to get them off, the nut makes a very satisfying "crack" when it lets go!  Had one that really didn't want to come off, was worried the car would come off the stands so put the wheel on with the centre cap removed and dropped it back on the ground... the wheel was lifting off the ground and turning but the f'in nut still wouldn't give... ended up flipping the breaker bar round 180deg and bouncing up and down on it!

Only if you remove the steering knuckle assembly although why you would need to remove that to change a bearing beats me
