£9000 is about the right money, the 3.0 diesel generally reliable, make sure you start it from cold, any judder when cold is likely to be an injector or a glow plug issue. Check the running temperature on the secret menu, if it doesn't sit at anything between 88-95 the EGR and or main thermostats will need changing. They're good cars, go really well, and that one is quite well specced so will fetch £9000.

Would you say the 530i is a more reliable engine, Especially when it comes to high mileage examples ?... These E60's are really growing on me just not their prices :-\

EDIT: Which BMW Specification would be similar to Elite, I presume M Sport would be the equivalent to the MV6.

MPG looks rather good for the performance, make you wonder........... ;) ;)

There are hardly any decent E39 5 Series around under £1,000 let alone E60's  ;D don't like spending much more than that on a car. Unless it was special like.  ;)

These 530d BMWs sure do appeal in the performance to fuel consumption figures that's for sure. Even the 530i ain't to bad.

Yeah remember watching the news when we had bad snow BMWs where all over the place.

Most modern petrols will be a bit more reliable than modern diesels, however that's not to say the 3.0 diesel is unreliable. BMW don't really do trim levels, you get a half decent base spec, and then you have to find one with the options you want selected. Ideal when buying new, not brilliant buying second hand though. All E60's however come with auto lights/wipers, i-Drive, all electric windows, CD Player etc etc. luckily though, a lot of people spec Sat-Nav, and you can find some with many options ticked.

M Sport is basically the same as the SE, except the bodykit, sports seats, and all M Sports come with a lovely fat beefy steering wheel  :-* :-*.

6 years old, galactic mileage, £9000,00. No way on earth would I pay that for any car. Sorry I thin he is mad  ;D

I would love a VXR8 but would not pay that much with that mileage.

Big problem for me is to keep that value they need full service history, as does any modern car, as the people who buy them look for that.

Beauty of Omega for me is DIY service, I got a bit frustrated with rear handbrake shoe replacement, but after a spot of guidance from little fatty, I'm confident on it now and can easily do the other side. All its cost me is £20 in parts.

That same job on a BMW 5/Audi A8 ect, Can't see much change if any out of £250? £50 for parts easy, 2 hours labor at £100/hr. Think i'm be very generous there too.

Cause for sub £1k, you can get a 120k mile Elite. Yes its going to use a lot more fuel, but £8k gets you a shed load of fuel. Throw in cheap parts and DIY servicing, you can run it for a couple of years for the cost of one BMW service.

Got to say I've never liked beemers... until the other day when me and my buddy went camping and he bought his g/f's 61 plate (iirc) 3 series diseasal. from the outside it was plain and boring like they all are imo.

but it was so comfy. usual blend of silver and black inside but as the journey went on I started to really like it.

when we got set up I had a good butchers at the engine. makes a lovely purr and they're the only diseasals that don't sound like diseasals! really super quiet!

weird battery cable routing though.

Dedicated battery box in the boot.  :y There is a covered 'live' post under the bonnet for jump starts etc.
Probably done for weight distribution as well as safety.  :y They have the battery lead 'detonators' fitted in case of collision.  :y

As a reference for you;

BMW 520d saloon auto on a '58' plate, se spec available at BCA Derby. 47,673 miles. Guide price is between £8,400 and £9,800

I appreciate it's not an M Sport, but gives you a ball park figure.

I sat in a friends 2013 520d Touring M-Sport the other day.. good grief those are some comfortable seats! I didn't think I'd find anything more comfy than the Omega (and they're miles ahead of my E46 M3).. naturally I started looking at prices..

..then came back to reality ;D
