Yes a different age indeed!  :)

What I'm wondering is how he actually got from Germany to Britain and back when both countries were at war.  ::) The article says he went by boat and train, but how did he cross the lines? Unless he went to Holland by train and got a boat from there....  :-\  Interesting!!  :)

Tbh Vamps, 25 years ago when I wore a uniform, i'd have said he deserved a bullet in the head for even contemplating going back.
On the other hand, i'm a lot older and have been around the block a few more times ................ a nice safe cell .................  vs ................ a pretty much certain death by either mustard / phosgene gas poisioning or a nice stroll over the top "Black Adder Style" across no mans land so General Haigh can more his cocktail cabinet 6 inches closer to Berlin I might have quite happily gone back  :-\ :-\
