Lowering Kit For Omega.
« on: 23 September 2013, 19:26:49 »

I would like to drop my omega 40mm all round, whats the best and cheapest kit available. Would like to do struts and springs as my current struts are looking a bit tired. I will eventually be fitting 19s but that will be in the new year as I have my wedding in 2 weeks and xmas in 3 month and I don't think my kids would like a piece of coal instead of presents. yea I know its a bit selfish of the kids.  ::)

The general concensus is don't go below 30mm front and 20mm rear (from standard, 15mm Front and 5mm Rear from LSC)

Mine is 30mm all round, and the rear is too low.  The rear will destroy the rear tyres inner edge as you can't tweak the camber out without destroying the rear toe.

My Elite is Irmscher sprung and Irmscher shocked. My MV6 is Irmscher sprung/GM shocked at front, and Gm sprung/B4 shocked at rear. The MV6 is set up for a combination of usability and handling. The Elite is set up for, errr, "just wrong" ;D

Many here recommend either Irmscher springs/B4 shocks or Eibach springs/B4 shocks (as Irmscher suspension parts are rarer than rocking horse shite)

I got lucky and bought some spax springs for £75 40mm at the front at 30mm at the back. I had them on for around 10000 miles and tyre wear was fairly even. I changed the front shocks though. Speed bumps can be a problem even given the relatively mild lowering height due to the long wheelbase.

+1 for Eibach and B4 Billies.  Also have K-Mac camber kits fitted front and rear on my MV6.

If you Elite an MV6, does that make it an MVee-leet?
