Halfords socket set sale
« on: 19 October 2013, 13:37:40 »

Having fun with Costco over a kit I bought and it's "lifetime warranty" as the 3/8 ratchet has given up the ghost. I need a replacement for now so was going to buy a halfords one for £19.99 until I saw this set which includes the same ratchet at the same price with a fair number of decent sockets included,

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_525109_langId_-1_categoryId_255215

Happy days! 50% off all sets apparently

Yep, although the Halfords ratchets are not covered under the lifetime warranty, having said that Ive managed to get replacements in the past with the 'Im not sure what Im doing here Saturday Boy'   ;)

No tool maker actually guarantees the ratchet mechanism... Not even Snap Off ;)

It was even cheaper with trade card, down to £15.99 ! I really rate their tools and the warranty has always been fine for me.

Same here, very good for the keen DIY'er.

The Halfords warranty doesn't cover wear and tear parts (ie, ratchets) or misuse (obviously).

The only thing I would say with Halfords, is make sure you keep the receipt safe, as they use the fact that everyone loses the receipt as an excuse ;)
