Radiator removal - help
« on: 27 October 2013, 09:56:37 »

I'm trying to remove a connector and a small pipe on the lower right hand side of the radiator, under the battery bay. I can't see a way to access these, there a load of pipes attached to the fan which are restricting me. Any ideas?

I can see the pipe clip from underneath the car, just above the radiator drain valve. There's not enough room for me to get at it with my pliers, what tool did you use to get the quick release clip off the pipe?

Mole grips?
+1 :y

Refitting is easier as you can rotate the clamp to a better position :y

I'll give it a go, although the jaws are too wide on all the pliers I've got as the space is really tight. I can get the pliers in but can't open them wide enough.

Got the little blighter, used long nosed pliers and a lot of patience. Next question how if the electrical connector above it held in place, is it similar to any other connectors on top of the radiator?

Does the bottom pipe on the right hand side need to be disconnected in order to remove the radiator? It seems to travel straight up and into a housing which is mounted onto the main fan, which comes out with the radiator.
