Well I think I may have come up with a plan but just need to confirm with you guys. :y

I have cut the 2 cables from the original roof aerial fitting as it was surplus to my needs.I now have the original black plastic plug which will connect into the aerial lead of the car so in effect have 2 bare aerial wire ends,1 must be GPS the other GSM.

Searching internet it seems you can buy a female mcx plug so can I just fit that onto the exposed aerial cable of the lead that is the GPS one and then just plug in any mcx male lead from mag mount ?..Can it be this simple really  ;)

Could be, but the female plug you can buy will almost certainly be a Crimp type, so you will need the crimp tool.

In fact thats all I was going to do, if you came over this way, lob both the the ends off and crimp a couple of thin 50 ohm in line connectors in there for you.  ;)

Suppose you could find a local AV guy locally that knows what there doing and ask them.
