Mine has a slight misfire first thing when started up within a couple of miles its fine. I guess that its oil in the plug at the back n/s that seems to be where the oil leaks from the cam cover. last time I took the plenum off I had a good look at the diss pack and it was fine. Oil in the plug well more likely on yours I would say. have look first it would save a bit of unnecessary work.

Driving with a misfire has the potential to wreck the Cats as they don't like un-burned petrol !!

:(
Thanks entwood,i know they are expencive. But would one trip wreck them :-\

guess that depends on how much petrol gets inside, and what condition the insides are already .. both factors are unknowns IMHO ... certainly I wouldn't want to drive nearly 200 miles with a misfire .. :(
::) about 40k with a stubborn and persistent one here with no lasting effects was only one cylinder in my case though :-\  :-X
Al just as a matter of fact, how can i tell if its one cylinder or more.Sorry to keep going on but i realy need to make this trip.
Have you read the codes?

Thought there was also a guide for resealing the scuttle, but can't find it :-\

A blast of WD40 over the dispack should help with any moisture there. If that doesn't make a temporary difference then you can identify which plug is misfiring by removing/refitting each lead in turn whilst the engine is running. The lead that makes no difference is where the misfire is :y EXTREME care is needed doing this. If you are not properly insulated you will most likely get electrocuted :'(

Well just a quick update.I took the chance and drove to birmingham friday night. We got to our hotel at 3.30am,so as i have AA cover i will give them a call.Wished i had not botherd retards(but thats another story). The mechanic checked all 3 drivers side plugs and leads, but would not check the passenger side.As he said there was to much to strip down,so i refused relay.Did what i had to do sat,and drove back sat afternoon. So no missfire on drivers side, but unknown on the pass side,so tommorow.I am going to sort out new leads, plugs and coil pac/dis pac, then to try to find someone i trust.Up here to fit them,i would like to thank evryone.Who contributed to my thred, its very much apreciated.Regards Dean :y
