When people ask what car i drive and i say proudly an omega v6 ( not mentioning that its the smallest v6 that was fitted in the omega ) they always look at me with a strange look and can't work out why i'm so proud. i must admit the cuople of people i have let drive it soon change there mind once they have driven it. People may laugh at a 10 year old vauxhall but i wouldnt change it for the world except for a newer model.

They are uneducated

A while ago I had a 1994 Daimler Double Six 6.0 V12 and over £50,000 new. The Elite I have now has better spec and is as almost as quick and cost loads less. Let people laugh, if there laughing there not buying which means more for us :y

I can well imagine!  :o  I commented to the owner of one of the last Series 3 Jag/Daimlers, (on the change over when a XJ40 was made so it wouldn't take a V engine) who was yet again filling it up. He'd left somewhere in Scotland & he was now filling it up for the 3rd time!!! This was in Bury, just 10 miles north of Manchester!!!

I took my new boss to the airport a few days ago and hit the sports button and floored as we got onto the autobahn.  He was shocked at how much his neck was snapped back!!  ;D ;D ;D

most probably because of the Vauxhall name.......

Vauxhall has not bee considered a luxuary car maker for a long time now nd so the Senator and Omegas were cars that were out of character, as a result i believe they were never taken seriously, however they are really good long distance cruisers....

Indeed these were cars that motoring correspondants often refered to as 'cheap mens Rolls Royce's, BMW's or Merc's! :o :o  Cheeky buggers! >:(  Although they did actually recognize the fantastic quality of what you got for your money at the time when new! :y

When i first got mine a few called it a Grandad car. I can live with that.
Many of the local youngsters pop in as my mate does jobs in the workshop for them, & they run Corsas, Astras etc. A couple of times i've been asked if it's any good? Took one of them for a spin. At about 30 in 2nd i floored it, changed up at 60 and heard "rather' hell" same again at 90 when i hit fourth. when fourth ran out i drove home gently.
He got out and told his mate"That thing just keeps going & going, thought it was gonna take off!" With the subtle mods they love it now.
I'm proud of mine & we've got the youngsters vote. :y

loads of people call mine "an old mans car" and other phrases to that effect

my brother calls it JML omega, since he drives a Lexus, which although its reliable (being a toyota underneath) it's basically a badge he's paid for, he even told me just 3 or 4 days ago he was considering buying it off me cos of the LPG when it goes up for sale very shortly, because although it's a VX badge, its a hell of alot more car than his lexus, in every aspect!!
