Chester City Council have loads of roundabouts with traffic lights on. What I cant understand is why there always on, you can be sat at a light at 3am with nothing on the road. Why dont they turn them off after a certain time

There is a similar barrier system near me; or there was until too many cars getting wrecked whilst trying to go over the rising bollards boxxacks the blessed devise!

The Council are now deciding whether or not to replace it at some  ridiculous cost (£30,000 comes to mind) or simply install cctv to catch and fine culprits who try to use this road.  I think I know which one they will select!
