Is the trade club semi synthetic 10w/40 oil ok for diesel engines.?

Great, I ask because I bought a 20l drum today at a very good price, just like a faulty volume control (couldn't turn it down)  ;D It was only after I got it home I thought "is ok for my 2.2 dti".
