Interesting Site - Real Time Air Traffic Maps

Come across this by accident whilst trying to find out happened to friends delayed Arrival. gives World Wide real time mapping of Flights, which can be searched by Airline, flight No. Call Sign etc, or click on the map, zoom in and out, click on a plane etc.

Gives Speed, Altitude, Track, heading in real time and can give a Pilots View via Google Earth down to Runway Level. So next time you need some info, Arrival touch down or Departure, your probably end up knowing more about whats going on than the Airport Infomation or the Passingers sitting inside the Plane.  :y

Got the app on iphone, well worth downloading just for the camera bit where you can point it towards a plane and the info comes up about said plane :)

Select a plane, click 3d and you can watch a virtual image of the forward view. Looking at one as it lands at heathrow.

There's a surprising amount of private aircraft, Learjets and the like.  Who are they? Where have they been/ are they going? What are they doing?  :-\

And a few military planes, saw an Israeli on over uk a week or so back didn't have any flight plan just hight and speed :o
