Need to send one, courier will be fine but how the hell do I pack the bugger? i don't think a bit of bubble wrap will do on it's own. Thinking of strapping it to a plank or something then wrapping, any suggestions that work well???

Large bubble will do. That`s what I used when sending one

I would put a piece of hardboard or thick cardboard on the machined face,then wrap plenty of bubble wrap around it. Then put it in a strong cardboard box, well taped up. Makes it easier to address it apart from anything else.

Get a corrugated box, open it up, so its flat, roll it around the head,and tape it up with brown tape,put two cut pieces in each end and tape,then loads of tape then wrap in black stretch wrap/film.

I've mostly shipped this type of stuff in plywood & firing strip crates put together with staples & wood screws. Big stuff like engine blocks would be strapped to a palet and I'm talking crimped steel strapping too.

The cast will break if some clutz drops it off a forklift from 3 feet up or more so pad it well.

Double wall cardboard boxes will work if you can find them or find a box that will fit perfectly inside another one might do the trick.
