bulbs for my 52 plate 2.2 auto 16v

hi everyone is it possible to put extra bright headlamp and sidelight bulbs in my car or do I need to add something sorry if it sounds a bit stupid but I have seen some bulb sets on ebay that have a blue tint to them and though I wonder if I can add not necessarily with blue tint but maybe like an ultra bright look  to them anyway that's my stupid question for the day LOL :) cheers rob

i use LED sidelight bulbs on all three of my cars and have uprated 5000k hid bulbs in them all aswell

ok that's great so I don't need anything just the bulbs what I mean is if I just put the new bulbs in they wont damage any electrics then ? cheers rob ps sorry but as a mechanic/electrician I'm a good chef LOL

Get a pair of Osram Nightbreakers - same wattage, straight swap ;)

As I understand it, you can buy 100W headlamp bulbs, but there are at least two problems, one legal and another safety.
As no commercially available 100W bulbs have been offered for CE approval, they are not permitted to be used in EU countries. Also, the extra current required to feed the higher power bulbs (just over 8 amps as opposed to just under 5 amps) means that the wiring could overheat, or worse.

I just replaced the bulbs in mine with halfords extra bright or something, very much improved visibility and they were buy one get one free so a no brainer really ,but are about £19 each I think, but as I said much better visibility although my lenses are fairly new as well.

Certainly wouldn't go any higher (for a road car, ignore show cars for now), its already beyond the sweetspot of 4200-4300k
