drivers door dead locked
« on: 29 March 2014, 19:18:44 »

Hi guys. My drivers door is deadlocked and the central locking has just failed. Now I cant get in the door. Anyone know how to get the door open? I got a feeling that I am going to have to destroy my door card to get access to the locking mechanism. Any ideas most welcome. :y

Key in lock and turn to unlock, when resistance is met keep forcing the key. Door will unlock but doorpin may not pop up

For some reason that doesnt work. I get no resistance at all. Think I might not have put it back together properly last time I changed it.  :'(

As Rob says turn the key as normal, about 10 mins past, then turn harder to almost 15 mins past, button may not pop up and on some you have to pull the door handle open while doing the key thing.

No just tried it. Key goes round to 90 degrees and does not open the door. :'(

I got to a point when the doors unlocked went past that til the key got to nearly 90 degrees and pulled door handle and nothing happens. If I try turning the key anymore it is gonna snap. I guess I am going to have to rip the door card off. Have put an ad for new door card in wanted section.  :'(
This is most annoying

hmm, sounds like something is not right, must admit only ever triad the Key thing on FL's, I had a PF 2.5TD and no amount of key fuffing around would open it. May be able to help on the Door Cards.  ;)

Managed to get the door open. Got it the passenger side put a screwdriver on the door pin and whacked it and it popped up. So no need to destroy the door card now.  :y thanks for the advice guys.
