Battery light question
« on: 25 March 2014, 16:34:56 »

When I switch off the ignition, the battery light comes on and goes off when I remove the key. Is this normal?

I can only remember it doing this when my alternator was on its last legs and I have since replaced it with a used part which I hope isn't about to die.

Thanks

It's normal for it to flash up as the engine stops, but not to stay on until you remove the key. Something odd's going on there. :-\

Any wiring been done recently that might have upset something? New stereo installed, etc?

Not had this problem yet with an Omega... but had a few others where the alternator was allowing current back up to the light....

Yep, that can happen if the regulator fails. :y
