omega diesel issues
« on: 26 March 2014, 18:31:48 »

evening all :)

would anyone have any suggestions on the following issue with my 2.5 td auto:

when the car comes to a stop ie traffic lights, roundabouts, the car cuts out!! >:( you then start it up and all is well until you have to stop again.
the car has had a recon diesel pump, injectors, no stored codes, or eml, in a straight line it will drive a1 until you have to stop.
im thinking could it be the idle control valve, air flow sensor, crank sensor maybe?

any help would save this car from the scrappers :-[

change filters, air & fuel, start with the cheapest first, oh, and buy genuine.

Hi & welcome  :y

The 2.5TD has a DBW throttle (Drive by Wire) it has no idle control valve.

Don't go changing parts yet, adding unknowns  :y

I'd start by taking the EGR off and giving that a good clean  :y

No real point in changing parts until you know it's at fault.  :y

As said above change filters etc tip a tin of diesel magic on the new filter and top up with neat diesel, if its not storing codes, its iether autobox problem or tickover is to low, which can be adjusted via tech1,/2 dependant on age :y
