timing belt kit advice
« on: 01 April 2014, 10:11:35 »

nead to change time belt on my omega 2.6v6
Last time I mount SKF complete with no luck. After 30k km water pump go off and now after 50k km tensioner stuck (belt is to tense and whistle)

What do you think about this? Any suggestion?

SKF is a good make, very surprised you have seen issues with them

Was the SKF one bought from a reputable supplier, as there appears to be a few copies around.

You should be ok with SKF, Gates or Contitech kits - avoid other "makes"

I personally prefer Gates timing belt kits, iirc most Gates kits have SKF tensioners and what nots in them

Both Gates and Contitech kits have SKF tensioners and adjusters in them, as do SKF  ;)
