Hi Guys, any steer on this?......recently had cam belt change and new plugs (presume Vauxhall plugs as done at my local Vaux dealer) thinking it might help improve the engine performance - last new plugs were at 40k in 2006 with previous owner - however the tickover is now more lumpy than it was before - at its resting point at 500 revs, the engine visually 'jiggles' unhappily and the backs of the front seats take most of the vibration - wish I had left well alone. Pressing accelerator slightly brings all the harmony back.
So, can anyone guess what might have changed or been upset by having a the cam belt and the plugs changed?

That sounds a bit like the problem I'm getting with my 2.2 after having new coil pack and rocker covers. Still haven't got to the bottom of it yet though.

The cambelt is not properly installed!

If it was my car, I would get a forum member to have a look at the timing

Throw it back at Vauxhall. Although probably I hiding to nothing.


Bank 246 timing is set with a non adjustable bottom roller on the late 3.2's so worth a look at bank 135.

....after checking coil pack condition. Any codes via pedal trick? Might not be, missfire has to be quite bad before a codes is raised.

If its just unhappy at tick over could be a Vac Pipe or Vac leak somewhere.

thanks Guys for coming back and advice - re reply from chrisgixer, with bank numbers for timing - was is that?  No misfiring just seems that engine (to use an old expressioni) is 'hunting'

Check the simple things first, so vac leak is a good start as said. Are all the hoses and vac pipes connected correctly. No air leaks?

Then misfires, although skip that If it's not a missing.

Cam timing, cylinders 1,3 and 5 is the drivers bank of cylinders on the v6...?
