This is the one I posted about on here.
Correct torque is 60nm but to take the play out it had to be done up to 100nm, but still there was some movement.
It seems the only place to get reliable idlers is the dealers. Genuine Lemforder ones don't seem to last much more than 6 months either. But Paul's was a clear copy, differNt shape casting, it was very differant to the genuine knackered one that came off.
While we all want cheaper parts and need to try these suppliers, at the same time it's important to let people know when stuff fails as well as when stuff works.
So thanks Paul for posting. One to avoid, defo.
I have today, finally asked a machinist to see if they can make the internal bush on these from Nylon. They don't have the correct oil impregnated nylon Mark recommended in stock, but will try some other stuff as a test that they do have first and see if it can be made due to the thin walls.
If not it may need to be moulded I guess.
Sadly I don't think we'll see a usable part in time for any currently failed idlers to be repaired, as they are quite busy and not charging for the experimental stages.
