Yeah I can take an engine apart no probs. Putting it back together, now that’s something else….

There's a box underneath the engine, I think it's called a sump, any bits left over, put them in there 8-)

Thanks for the tip AA - but where do I put the leftover bits that are to big to fit in this 'sump'?  

In the first aid receptacle in the boot, obvious....

What do peeps think of these two different code readers?

I quite like the first one as it does away the need for a laptop. But will the second one be able to do more? To me it isnt clear if the first one can read more than just the engine ecu, ie gearbox ecu, so ive sent him an email asking. Ive asked about a EML327 one before....but then i saw the first one  :-/

The prices seem quite keen too.....he also sells the cheapo tech2 lead, cheaper than most on ebay.

Had an email back from the guy for the one in the 1st link.....apparently can only read engine ecu  
but having said i got totally lost about his comment about my VectraC being CAN bus.....then he suggested i bought one of his cheapo tech2 leads   ..... so not sure if he knows what he's on about  :-/

So one in the 2nd link maybe a better buy......seeing as software you can use on it can do stuff like sensor monitoring.....but its always going to be down to software at the end of day that you use.
There seems to be more software about for the serial version.
