Like a idiot i tried to clean my lcd while it was on..The problem I have know is a big shadow in the middle of the scre
Anybody know if this can be fixed or is it a new tv. I dont do insurance so cant claim.

Turn it off and leave for a bit. Should disappear eventually. As long as its not cracked

if you feel up to it if get the screen out it and get the part number of the back of it.  you might get lucky and find one on the bay really cheap

Is it the backlighting you've damaged, or the TFT panel?

TBH, whatever it is, its probably not worth repairing if its more than a couple of years old, due to panel costs.

you never know I managed to get a used 45 inch bravia screen off the bay for 40 quid. still going strong. worth a chance

or a good excuse for a 60 inch 3d monster :y :y

Have got my eye on a new one but just thought i might be able to fix this so it can be used in another room

just get the back off the tv and see if there is a part number on the back of the lcd on a white sticker.

"pauls", after that amount of time your screen obviously isn't going to cure itself and a new one would be prohibitive in cost, but may I suggest an ebay trader - "cheapasbits" - who seems to have a good stock at reasonable prices?
