It would have have been a bit ironic if he'd survived the crash, only to be 'harvested' by the combine!  :o  ::)

Hmm. Feels like there've been far too many mid-airs this season, but, mercifully, most have ended OK.

Had I been the other pilot, not sure I'd have trusted the glider to get me to the ground after that big a bump but that's easy to say if you've not faced the decision to land or bail out.

Thank god both survived.

Glider pilots have parachutes  ??? Didnt know that and how that harvester driver never seen a bloody big parachute . Harvester must have been on auto pilot while he was asleep ::)

Probably not far from the truth as modern ones have GPS, you plot the most efficient cutting route and let it get on with it. The most skilful part is the adjustment of the cutting / harvesting mechanism to get the best cut and maximise the crop yield.
