Some question about stereo
« on: 03 August 2014, 22:54:57 »

Right, not sure where the post I made earlier went but let's try again?

I orderd after thinking today a new x Tron stereo double din unit for my omega.
I know the date and time display will disappear, but I seen a post where it says the time can be connected to the areal output of the radio.
That's ok, don't really need the date.

Now the original audio unit I have in the omega has a button on the right side of the steering wheel with ant on it.
Pressing it it tells me some about traffic master and expired license.
What is this all about?
It only works when the radio is on.
Sorry but I don't know what it is and what function it should satisfy?
It cost apparently to activate, what would I pay for ? And my guess it wouldn't work with the new
Aftermarket unit.
But this one has bluetooth, satnav etc in it.

Any help about all this please.

The Trafficmaster Service for your car is now a dead duck, so just ignore it.

One very quick way is to look in the load space for the amp unit

On the saloon it's under the parcel shelve
On the estate it's in the right or left storage area behind the plastic cover.

How do I know?
I happily found out I have a facelift but how do I know it's a elite?
It's a CDs estate automatic.
2000 register, 2,5 v6  24valve, leather.

Does it say Elite on the front doors. Kinda guessing it says CD or CDX.

So its a CD model then. It wont have Bose fitted as standard.

Sorry, I pad spelling crap.
CDX. On the front doors. Not CDs .

Don't give me wrong, the stereo has a good sound, but .....
No connection facilities for ipad, tab s or any mobile.
Can't play copy cd's, mp3 and no sd card slot.

I maybe spoilt by my last stereo but 700 songs on sd card is a lot easyer as
Having loads of cd's flying around in the car.
Sat nav in the radio integrated means less clutter and cables on top of the dash,
And having my mobile including work mobile connected in the same time saves on
Tickets or different free speaker systems around.

Should have the new stereo by next week.
So I will update once is in.
Thanks guys.

Looked in the boot in storage spaces left and right but can't find any amps.
Unless is hidden behind a panel.

You wont find any, as said, only fitted in Elite versions.

By yourself the Parrot MKi9200.

Has all the connections for iPad, mp3 players, USB etc. Connects to your mobile phone too.

Saves having to rip out the stereo :y

Was looking at it, but this wouldn't go throught the stereo. Or would it?
You need to plug this system somewhere in but the stereo has no input.

Well, orderd the new one anyway, so weekend comes along, I hope it's here and then I find out.
Hope it works. Lol

Btw the parrot systems are the same in costs as the new stereo unit, plus the DVD options with feed to back headrest monitors for passengers. I .e. Dogs. Lol

I did look at the audio Manuel which came with the car but says nothing about
Bose etc. so should be ok.
