Alloy wheel refurb...
« on: 05 September 2014, 00:28:59 »

in South London or the Croydon area to be more specific.

Ok, so I was a bit silly and pulled out of a road causing someone else to brake and scuff their alloy. I have put my hand up and agreed to pay for a refurb. The chap lives in the above area and despite a few online quotes, I have had no real response from alloy refurbers.

So what is the going rate for a smart repair for a 16' alloy, no buckles or cracks? Anyone you recommend in the region. I dont want a full strip down and refurb, just a smart repair. I wonder if the lack of interest from the online lot is due to the fact that it is only a single wheel that needs repairing? Prefer a mobile service to minimise hassle to the chap involved.

Going rate is £45-60 per wheel. There's a place in Manor Royal in Crawley who do them while you wait... Wicked Wheels iirc :-\ :y

Alternative would be to get one on ebay and get it refurbed ready :-\

I remember paying £35 about 18 months ago. Prices seem to have gone up recently.

Thanks for the link Al.

The last ones I had done were early mv6 ones, which with vat and swapping tyres were about £63 each, about two years ago at a local tyre place. A colleague of mine has used Wicked Wheels several times and is always pleased with the results :y

Lepsons in Gillingham,Kent just down from the railway station are very very good and offer a collection and delivery service if you dont fancy driving to Gillingham.

Had my 4 done last year and results were better than original OEM standard as most main dealers use them, price was £65 per wheel including tyre removal and refit/balncing etc.

Any colour/style you can imagine although that will alter the costs
