How to you get to that top right bagpipe!? The scuttle's off, can get to the pollen filter, but cannot for the life of me see how to remove that. The reason being I need to get it off, in order to push good n tight a vac pipe back on. There's a small hiss leak with pipes in place, which stops when you remove ( what I assume to be) the outlet pipe, and plug it with your finger. This way I know the leak isn't from the bagpipe itself, and blocking the pipe with a finger, I also know it's not the pipework, too.

Anyone done one before? Thanks chaps and chapesses!

If it's like the DTi you have to lift the scuttle panel.

I think we're confusing terms ........ the bag pipes are the two pipes at the front of the engine that go to the top cover/plenum ..........

ie no where near the scuttle, which is the bit under the windscreen

Ahh apologies - I've known the 'bagpipes' as referring to the small air reservoirs, which have a couple of outlets, which look sort of like a bagpipe, really. Right, you live and learn, the two ducts into the multiram are the bagpipes. Got ya 

OK so re-asking the question - how to you remove the air reservoir under the scuttle, by the pollen filter? The air leak's there almost certainly there. but it needs the pipe fully seating on it, for a decent seal, as no matter how hard I push it on (with the tips of my fingers, as I can't get better purchase/nearer than that) there's still a 'wheeze' when I blow into the corresponding thin pipe at the main vac pipe.

Remove the scuttle. And wiper arms obviously. Then the vac tank will be revealed.

No, I can get to it, it's finding the means of removing it that's the issue.  At the risk of repeating myself, I've got the scuttle cover, wiper arms, everything off. To the point where I can get my hand in and plug outlets/inlets with my finger. I just can't see how it's fixed to the car, it appears to be part of the moulding for the pollen filter.

I even have a pic from the EPC, which shows the tank, the moulded-in brackets each with one hole and 2x torx studs used to hold it in place, but I can't feel these, the area of the bracket where you'd expect the stud to be is just smooth, as if there's no studs in there at all. Hence my confusion. I'll be on it tonight. Give you updates

I took the one out from the MV6 estate the other month, I ended up taking the glove box out and I think there were a few screws but RobG would tell you for correct removal.

Right! See that's what i was thinking - it had to be something like that. There are literally no screws, studs, etc that I can see! Thanks, I thought I was going mad!
