30 Piece Metric Vortex Socket Set 1/4" 3/8"
« on: 10 November 2014, 21:43:42 »

http://www.halfords.com/motoring/garage-equipment/socket-sets/halfords-advanced-professional-30-piece-metric-vortex-socket-set-1-4-3-8

I owned one these sets for about 10 mins today.
Lunch hour with not much to do, so pop into Halfords for a nose.

Spotted one these pass-thru sets, never know it might come in handy one day.

Opened the set in the car & started playin with it. The quarter inch sockets push & lock onto the ratchet handle nicely, but the larger handle is knackered & refuses to accept any socket >:( Back into the shop & demonstrate to the lass at the rear counter how crap this thing is & that was their only set. So can`t be arsed with it & got a refund.

The half inch pass-thru set is £70.

That's a shame... I understood the Halfords sockets were supposed to be the nuts, before you start on Snap-on etc.... I was thinking of getting me the pro set for Xmas, actually...  :(
